Description
Habitat
Ctenurella was a small, exposed placoderm (one of the ptyctodontids). Its only armor was developed on top of its head and in a band around the shoulder girdle. It had 2 dorsal fins, one upright and the other long and low. Large, paired pectoral and pelvic fins stabilize it from below,and the tail tapered to a whiplash. This small placoderm had crushing tooth plates in its jaws, the upper bones of which were firmly fused to the brain- case.
