Thracian Sea
The Thracian Sea is a portion of the Aegean Sea and it is the north most point of the sea. The Sea is surrounded by Macedonia and Thrace and also Turkey. The length of the sea from east to west varies from 23 E to about 25.8 E and the width from north to south varies from 40.25 N to about 41 N.
Islands: Thasos and Samothrace (Greece) and Gökçeada and Bozcaada (Turkey) are the main islands in the Sea.
The Ierissian Gulf in the southwest, the Strymonian Gulf, the Kavala Gulf and the Saros Gulf in Turkey are the gulfs around the sea. The Nestos and the Evros River/Meriç are the rivers that drain into the sea and Loutra Eleftheron in Kavala are the well-known thermal springs.
